ERP is First for the Enterprise
ERP is First for the Enterprise
Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP is first for the Enterprise. Many are uncertain of what ERP is used for and what goals and objectives you can expect to achieve from ERP. ERP is first for the Enterprise and the effective use of resources in the Enterprise. There are many benefits and efficiencies that come from ERP, but the primary advantage that it gives an Enterprise is the ability to do more with the same resources.
We all know what the Enterprise is; it is your business, corporation, partnership, proprietorship, or other entity that conducts business. As the Enterprise grows it becomes larger than any single person and larger than even a group of managers, there are simply too many balls in the air for us poor humans to keep track of, so in comes ERP. ERP is a single entry system or information entered into a corporate database that is entered once and saved forever. As the corporate information and data is saved forever you can retrieve that information instantly and you can analysis and use that information to your future benefit.
The very first benefit of ERP is to the Enterprise. Once the system is in place, everyone using the system is trained, historic data is imported to the new system, and everyone is using the system, there is an instant reduction in clerical, accounting, and business management labor. So the Enterprise becomes stronger, more focused, and smoother running. The only effort that increases is marketing. The marketing department now has instant access to every job or product sold, who sold the item, who installed the item, the “lot number” of the item, when the item was sold, what the price of the item was, the details of the contracts, and many more Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that point the sales and marketing department in the right direction.
In summary, ERP is designed for the Enterprise to flourish beyond our human capabilities and to get the most out of your investments in the Enterprise. We can leverage our existing resources.
